Ghost needs some extra command line parameters in order to work well with
some NICs.

For example a few days ago when we were cloning some Dell OptiPlex GX270 PCs
with Broadcom NICs, we had to use
Ghost.exe -fni -jm=u

Without these switches, Ghost did not even load or froze soon after
starting.

I can't remember the version of Ghost, but I found the only place I could
write the image to was a locally attached drive. Another computer on the
network, on the same subnet, or directly connected with a cross-over cable
didn't work for me. It would write a couple MBs out and then it would hang.
This was a DELL 6450 with the data on local SCSI drives (sys vol duplexed).
Surprised it worked at all.

Depending on what you're trying to do it "might" be easier to do a DR
recovery (a lot of config info is kept in AD) from a file level backup to a
desktop PC and IDE drives , and then Ghost that.

Has anyone ever attempted to ghost an ex2003 server then restoring the image
to another machine? Is this even possible?
