I get errors when attempting to us a UPN logon to access mail using POP3
client. The error leads to a link that suggest the cause and a fix see below
but this would require my users to logon using the NTLM format domain\username.
The domain is diffrent than their UPN which matches their mail address. Any
ideas on using a UPN to access mailboxes over POP? This is also coming from a
Frontend / backend setup

thanks

Explanation
This event indicates that when a POP3 client made an attempt to access a
mailbox on the Exchange Server, the attempt failed because of a logon failure.
The error 0x52e translates to ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE
This error occurs because the value in the User Logon Name (Pre-Windows 2000)
box does not match the value in the Mailbox Alias box.
