Hi! Exchange 5.5 on Windows 2000 Server. The IS is currently at 36 Gig. No, it does not happen during a backup or online defrag. I checked with the users and they are not doing anything different. I will try a defrag and integrity check on the weekend. Thanks!

The first thing I'd try are the non-destructive eseutil options - the /D and /G defrag and integrity check options. Check with the users, see if anyone's trying to send out some kind of regular bulletin to all users at that time.
