Thanks Ed. I got it. Have to create a new job, save the attributes to
another BKS file then modify the batch job to append.

Thanks again!

I don't think so.

Thanks Ed. I guess my next question is can you copy a BKS and then use
notepad to make changes? Doesn't seem to like that for some reason. Or do
you have to go through NT backup and save the specifications and save the
BKS file to an alternate name to use?

You'll need two jobs with the second appending to the tape.

Subject: Exchange 2003 backups.

We are currently migrating multiple servers to 2003. I currently backup
multiple 5.5 systems using one tape drive but two different batch jobs and
two different tapes.

We are using NT backup to backup production systems but I would like to
backup 2 Exchange 2003 servers to a single tape using one job if possible.
I currently have a BKS file created on the system with the tape drive that
has the enclosed.

C:\
C:\Documents and Settings\exchadmin\My Documents\ /Exclude C:\Documents and
Settings\exchadmin\Desktop\EX2003SP1\ /Exclude JET UCMAIL6\Microsoft
Information Store\First Storage Group\ JET UCMAIL6\Microsoft Site
Replication Service\SRS Storage\

I thought that I could just use Notepad and add the second server to this
BKS file to have it back up another server, but it doesn't seem to like it
even though I rename back to a BKS it barfs.

I guess my questions are can you edit a BKS file or is that not possible
without affecting the attributes and the backup no longer recognizes it.
Also can you backup two systems on a single pass or do I have to have two
separate jobs running and do they have to be on separate tapes. I'm sure
that you can backup another Exchange system from a tape drive located on a
separate box like in 5.5?

Thanks!
