Do you have multiple external IP addresses? If so, then simply create a new sub domain on your external DNS service, create an MX record for this subdomain pointed at your other external IP address and external email will come in directly. For your internal systems, create the sub domain on your internal DNS servers, including MX records, but use the internal IP addresses instead. If the list server is using your Windows DNS for DNS lookups, then create an MX record for your internal domain with the internal IP address of your Exchange server so that the email stays on the LAN. If you only have a single external IP address then you will have to route both inbound and outbound email through the Exchange server. This can be done with using an SMTP Connector to relay the email. I did this for a client using Listserv last summer. Or, is there a way to tie this into Exchange 2003? Were trying to keep it separate, since we don't want the moderators of the list server and the Exchange 2003 Admins stepping on each others toes.
