Are you using Windows 2003 DNS? If so, read this:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=830905

Call PSS and they will send you the hotfix for free. This fixed the
problem for me.

The work around is to clear DNS cache.

Subject: Event ID 4000: Unable to bind to the destination server in DNS

I am still having problems, intermittently with messages to certain
domains getting stuck in OUTGOING queues. The event log says either

Unable to bind to the destination in DNS

Or

The connection was dropped by the remote host

Windows 2000, Exchange 2000, all service packs.

I also notice that when I do an nslookup -type=mx for the domains in
question, I don't a MX record, I just get a general record. attbi.com is
one of the problematic domains.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Thanks,

Michele Cooper
