You can remove the fields from the address book template. If you're really savvy, lock down the permissions on the AD attributes themselves. However, you'd need to test the crap out of that to be sure you didn't break something else. Perhaps the best alternative is to not use DLs for that and instead separate class membership onto a separate list processor server.
