I think PGP is actually more client-based than a gateway

We have come across the same requirement.. Our boss does not want anyone
sending attachments that are not protected? Is it right PGP is a gateway
solution? If so how does the licensing work, we had a look and it
appears to allow each client five people to send to? This looks like an
awfully expensive solution? Are there any other Gateway solutions
available?

All this transpired after someone who I will not name sent a word
document which when it arrived at the recipient then displayed all the
document history...

We were looking at upgrading our office and just only allowing people to
send out PDF? Is this an option?

Kind Regards

S/MIME or PGP work pretty good and have been around for quite some time.
