I just added an Exchange 2003 SP1 server to our Administrative group. Mixed Exchange 5.5 and Exchange 2000.
I moved a test account over to the new box (no problems with the move. I added it to allow access to the Routing Groups (SMTP and Routing Group connectors). Both the new server and the 2000 server are listed on the "Local Bridgeheads" of the SMTP connector and RG Connectors. The account can send mail to the Internet fine, but inbound SMTP mail hits the Exchange 2000 box, which promptly sends it back to the smarthost, which sends it back.... Until I get a too many hops error. Also, Internal traffic from the new server to the old, or old to new goes out the smarthost instead of direct delivery. The address of the test user did not change when it moved to the other server. I'm sure I just overlooked something simple, but can't see it. ________________________________ Bob Reasoner Harris County Public Health & Environmental Services _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=exchange To subscribe: http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
