We had similar problems with remote Win XP O2k3-clients (connecting to E2k3
on
W2k3 over a VPN line). In our case they were due to the follwowing MS patch:

In that bulletin there are some links to KB articles, specifically the
following one. We obtained the hotfix from Microsoft and that fixed our
problems:

I do not know if this is an Outlook 2003 issue or and Exchange 2003
issue so I am writing all of you.
We are currently Exchange 2003 SP1. We have Outlook 2003, Outlook 2002,
Outlook 2000 and Outlook 98 users. Every since we moved all of our
mailboxes to Exchange 2003 the Outlook 2003 users seem to have hanging
problems. A pop up message comes up saying: Outlook is requesting data
from the server Or Outlook is trying to retrieve data from
I have looked on the KB and have not been able to determine anything
further.
Do you have any suggestions?
