Nope. It runs just fine (the beta drop) on Windows XP and Windows Server
2003. I haven't tried it on Win2K.

Is Monad Longhorn/Vista only?

Looks kind of pretty.. But I am with you, monad is what I am learning
right now, very powerful.

Wow...if I wasn't gonna spend my "new language" time on monad, I'd spend
some time with this...it looks very powerful.

There is no need to deploy a new scripting language runtime to use
AutoIT scripts. They compile into EXE's and can be called across
network from login scripts. You can even compile files into the EXE
itself if you don't want to set out a shared point for files you may
want to use as part of the script.

AutoIT script basically sends key commands to manipulate window control.
I sent my script to Michael and he is re-doing it into VBSCript I
believe.

AutoIT makes it easy enough for any fool to do pretty much anything
imaginable with scripting. It's just not as cool as doing it behind the
scenes as it's manipulating the screen as if you were doing it yourself,
but you can lock out local KB/Mouse input and blank out the screen. One
of my guys has an array of scripts from setting up Outlook profiles, to
pushing files to all of my servers across our WAN, to doing a new insall
of an entire software package.

For being free, it can't be beat if you need quick and dirty scripting
done and don't know KIX, VBScript, etc, or have time to learn it....
IMO.

You can do it with vbscript (included with all OS'es since W2K). I've
already done proof of concept, I'll be developing it further soon.

That's not a bad idea, except that I don't want to deploy a new
scripting language runtime, especially to the remote locations.

Thanks,
Erick

One of my guys wrote an AutoIT script to setup Exchange over RPC. Took
him about 1 hour from the time he first starting playing with the free
scripting program. May be worth a look.

Subject: Setup file for OL2003 RPC over HTTP

I have setup my Exchange 2003 for RPC over HTTP, and now I want to move
some of my remote users to it. However, there are a fair number of
settings (for end users), and I don't have support people at a lot of
the remote locations. The installations of Outlook are unmanaged, and
they don't have local access to the internal network, so I can't use ORK
(can I?). What is the best way to automatically setup OL 2003 to use RPC
over HTTP?

Thanks,
Erick
