Hi list, we are currently running Exchange 5.5. SP4 on Windows 2000 SP4. The problem is that for the third day in a row the server stops responding. After a reboot Exchange comes up fine. When checking Event Viewer I can see the Unexpected Shutdown message stating 8:11 a.m. I (hard) reset the server at 8:29. When the server is not-responding, I am able to ping the machine. So, it seems IP is there. The moment I want to connect to a share the machine is not found. So, I think the problem is not with Exchange, but with the OS. Since layer 3 is there, and layer 4 and higher is not. Or is it normal behaviour with the Unexpected Shutdown message? Has anyone ever experienced this problem? TIA. Richard Franken0
