Hi,
We recently upgraded to AD 2003 and added a new Exchange 2003 server and we
are slowly moving each user (less than 300) from the old 2000 Exchange
server. Everything works flawlessly with the exception of users getting
access to POP3 mail once they are on the new Exchange 2003 server. The
outside world sees our internal pop3 as mail.domain.com and that is setup on
300 different locations that rely on pop3 access.
I do have POP3 enabled on both servers. SP1 is in place. This is under one
e-mail orginization and one domain, one forest. Every other function of
e-mail between groups in this orginization works great. All POP3 and SMTP
is being routed to the original 2000 exchange server and then distributed
from there. When I try to access e-mail via pop3 with a user on the new
server I get an error message that the user is unknown...I find this
interesting because as one e-mail orginization, it should see every user as
long as POP3 is enabled.
The goal is to move all users to the new Exchange server and then remove the
old exchange server from the environment. Until then, I need POP3 to come
into a single point and see both servers or correctly route throughout the
e-mail orginization.
Thank you,
Terry
