Yesterday our Exchange 5.5 server starting having high CPU usage on store.exe. I can see nothing out of the ordinary happening on the server that would give me any clue as to where to start looking. There is no anti-virus running on the server. Internet email is forwarded from our Xwall server which is now showing any unusual activity. There are no huge log files and the message queues appear fine. There is nothing unusual in the event logs. The full backup I ran last night went just fine. Since the high CPU usage start, clients can connect just fine, but responsiveness is less than normal.
I restarted the server last night and for the first few hours afterwards it seemed to be running fine. When I got in this morning, the high CPU usage was back. This is a single server in it's own site and does not communicate with any other Exchange servers. It is running on NT 4.0 SP6a+ and has all the Exchange service packs and rollups that I am aware of. The version of the store.exe file is 5.5.2658.4. Nothing has been changed on the server in the recent past. Any ideas where I can start trying to figure this out? ----------------------- Chuck Parkey Creative Teaching Press _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=exchange To subscribe: http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
