I actually had to create a new virtual directory inside exchange manager. There is one already called exchange, which allows users web access to mailboxes of one of the domains.
I had to create a second one (exchange2) which gives web access to mailboxes of the second domain this company has. Now the user visits http://X.X.X.X/exchange2/ and enters the username and password for that mailbox. They are then able to access the mailbox sucessfully.
