Can anyone give me any pointers on Full Text Indexing?

I've read the various docs and I guess I'm after a little real-world
feedback.

I have a single 2003 Enterprise server with a single storage group and
approx 600 mailboxes with a single mailbox store of around 70gb.

The server has 4gb of ram and a 6 x 146gb 10k SCSI Raid10 for the
databases. Logs are on a 2 x 76gb 15k Raid1 with the OS (separate
partitions).

The Microsoft documents say to allow between 10 to 30 percent for the
text index. They also talk about having separate disks for the index.
HP say "without proper configuration and tuning the deployment risks may
outweigh the benefits" so I'm a little wary of trying to JFDI.

I should stress that I'm not being bombarded with complaints that it
takes a long time to search, I've just migrated from 5.5 to 2003 and am
looking at all the new features trying to work out what will be of
benefit and what may not.

Any tips/pointers/words of wisdom would be appreciated.

cheers,
Paul
