That's not an X.400 address, but an X.500-type address, or legacy Exchange
distinguished name (legacyExchangeDN).

Look for a setting in the user's properties of a munged alternate recipient.

Subject: Exchange 5.5 (sp4) and event ID 2027 (duplicate messages)

Hi All,
On our exchange server that is also rebooting randomly, I have found that
upon upping the logging levels, I am seeing a tonne (metric) of event ID
2027 - A duplicate message arrived. Ignoring delivery to /o=org.name
/ou=sitename /cn=recipients /cn=username

Now this happens infrequently for a number of users (once every couple of
days or less), however for one user, it happens almost constantly. Sometimes
several of these events are logged in the event log at the same time.
Perhaps this would be a cause for the server to lock up and need a reboot?

The x400 address user also complains of failed delivery notifications from
time to time, and external users also complain that they cannot sometimes
send a message to them either. We have tested, but not been able to
replicate the issue.

The only thing that comes to mind is that this user also works at another
company as well, and there was at one stage forwarding from one mailbox to
the other. I have checked from our end, and we are not autoforwarding, and
the other side does not appear to be autoforwarding either.

I am not sure the best way to proceed from here, and havent been able to
find much online yet about this issue.

Any guidance you could offer would be appreciated.
