If it's an intermittent problem -- what AV are you running? Symantec?
I've seen pretty severe performance hits when new definitions arrive, if the
settings aren't just right.

I would run Performance Monitor and watch the usual key counters.

You didn't say anything about your disk subsystem. That's the first place I
would look.

Subject: Outlook/Exchange 2003 Slowness

Hello all...We recently upgraded to Exchange 2003. We are running in a dual
server configuration (half mailboxes on each server), three stores on each
server. Occasionally we have user complain of the following:
when they highlight an email the body takes 30 seconds or so to appear in the
preview pane. Also, when they hit reply, the reply (new email) takes 30 seconds
or so to come up on the screen. There seems to be some bottleneck.
Does not happen often but enough to be noticeable. We are running a variety of
clients including OL2000,OLXP,OL2003. Seems to be happening with all three.

In our old environment we were running Exchange 5.5, one store, one machine
and surprisingly enough, the Outlook/Exchange interaction was much faster.

Any thoughts what we should be looking for?

Thanks in Advance.
