You can run forestprep until you turn blue.

You can have two ADC machines, but with different connection agreements
on them. Wehave two ADC servers, but one has all the CAs and the other
one doesn't have any CAs. It is there just in case the first one fails,
then we can move the CAs to the second one.

ADC does not interact with NT that much. It interacts with Exchange 5.5.
I don't see a problem feeding your Exchange 5.5 into one of the child
domains.

We have a parent domain. It is actually an empty root. And our ADC feeds
Exchange 5.5 to the child domain.

Now when it comes to Config CA agreements, you don't have a choice
because all the Exchange infrastructure objects live in the
Configuration partition of Active Directory and that belongs to the
parent domain.

Subject: Active directory connectors and child domains

Have a few questions about Active directory connectors, wondered if
anyone
can provide some advice.

Firstly, can you have more than one server running active directory
connectors that link the same set of domains/exchange sites together?
I.E.
two separate servers on the same new AD domain running ADC that links
back
to the same old NT domain, linking two the same old Exchange 5.5 site?

Secondly, our new AD domain is a child domain only for the UK and it
stems
from a European wide top level domain. I want our child domain to
interact
with our old NT domain which is only for the UK and have the ADC
connection
to the old Exchange 5.5 box, is this a valid config?

What I have found so far is that I need enterprise administrator rights
to
install ADC which obviously only exist in the top level domain, if I add
the
username I using to install ADC into the top level enterprise
administrators
group will that suffice?

Last question which doesn't apply to ADC at all is what are the
ramifications of running forestprep twice? Stupid question I know, but
I
have a funny idea due to people leaving the company, nobody is going to
know
if its already been run.
