You don't happen to be seeing a backup of e-mail and general delays in
the Local Delivery Queue as well do you? Reason I ask is that on Monday
at around 10am, the local delivery queue started to back up and e-mail
is an average of 2-5 minutes delayed. Eventually the # of mails coming
in exceeds the speed the server processes them and I have thousands of
mails backed up.

I rebooted the server and in will flush out 2000+ e-mails in less then a
minute. My monitoring shows 200 e-mails per second processed in this
period, but at the regular delayed rate, only 2 per second, so it's
obviously not a processing power issue.

I've noticed the ExchangeAppPool crashing in the event log as well,
although it's not frequent.

Subject: Back-end server IIS ExchangeApplicationPool stops for some
reason.

Exchange 2003 SP2

One of our backend servers has been acting up recently. The IIS
ExchangeApplication Pool just stops for some reason I look and I see
Events 1011 and 1002. We restart the service and it's fine but within a
few days it does the same thing. We rebooted and it still occurs. I've
gone through technet and searched but couldn't find anything concrete on
this one. I saw some old posts on meta data corruption and
re-installing IIS but nothing for 2003 sp2.
