I've heard that for years, but I also have a couple of systems (admittedly small, less than 50 users each) which run fine off one server for everything. Files, Tape Backup, RAID, Printers, Exchange, DNS, IIS, etc. Albeit with dual, fast processors, high RAM.
Is it still recommended that Office not be loaded on an Exchange server? Or is it just that Outlook not be loaded and/or utilized. Or was it with the earlier versions of Exchange: 5.5 & 2K? Office 03 OK with Exchange 03 on Server 03? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Ed Crowley [MVP] Sent: Wednesday, October 25, 2006 2:39 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Exchange as DC What you have is definitely manageable, if suboptimal, so don't lose sleep over it. Just be aware of the issues surrounding running Exchange on a DC so if you bump into any of the problems you'll know how to deal with them.
