During the initial phone menu did you request Hotfix instead of Support? Usually the Hotfix group will provide a hotfix if it is available regardless of support level, but if you request Support it is only for non-EOL products. Article ID : 837010 Last Review : October 26, 2006 Revision : 1.4 On This Page SYMPTOMS CAUSE RESOLUTION Hotfix Information Prerequisites Restart Requirement Hotfix Replacement Information File Information STATUS MORE INFORMATION SYMPTOMS When you have different e-mail client programs or e-mail devices in your Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 organization, you may experience the following symptom. For users who use these different programs or devices, meetings are automatically moved one hour ahead or one hour behind during the last week in October. Back to the top CAUSE This problem occurs when all the following conditions are true:* Users in your organization use different e-mail clients such as Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Web Access. Or, some users use devices such as Research In Motion (RIM) BlackBerry devices. * Your organization is configured to use the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) time zone. (Coordinated Universal Time is also known as Greenwich Mean Time). * The month of October has five Sundays. In the UTC time zone, daylight-saving time occurs on the last Sunday in October. However, a code defect in Exchange Server 5.5 causes the daylight-saving time adjustment to occur on the fourth Sunday in October. This code defect causes an incorrect daylight-saving time adjustment to occur for the years that have five Sundays in October. For example, for client programs that use Collaborative Data Objects (CDO) to access meeting information, the daylight-saving time adjustment occurs on Sunday October 24, 2004 instead of occurring on October 31, 2004 as you expect. Note This problem affects the years 2004, 2005, and 2006. The usual support costs will apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the specific update in question.
