Since you didn't provide the exact text you entered using telnet nobody can tell you what is wrong. In your message body did you specify a To: header?

Environment: two Exchange boxes running 32bit eval. First is ex1, holding HT, CA, and Mailbox roles. Second is ex2, holding edge transport role. If I telnet into the Edge box and send a message with just a simple one line body, the recipient receives it, but the TO line is blank, and so is the body. If I telnet and enter a blank line in the body first, then type my message, recipient gets the message, with the body text, but still no recipient in the TO box. Headers look like this: -------------------------------------------------------------------- Received: from ex2.domain.local (10.0.0.12) by ex1.domain.com (10.0.0.11) with Microsoft SMTP Server (TLS) id 8.0.685.24; Sun, 25 Feb 2007 14:09:14 -0500 Received: from domain.com (10.0.0.102) by ex2.domain.com (10.0.0.12) with Microsoft SMTP Server id 8.0.685.24; Sun, 25 Feb 2007 14:09:06 -0500 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain Message-ID: <be202b80-62fb-47db-8539-9050b02388de> From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Undisclosed recipients:; Return-Path: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Sun, 25 Feb 2007 14:09:06 -0500 X-MS-Exchange-Organization-PRD: domain.com Received-SPF: None (ex2.domain.local: [EMAIL PROTECTED] does not designate permitted sender hosts) X-MS-Exchange-Organization-PCL: 2 X-MS-Exchange-Organization-Antispam-Report: DV:3.3.4604.600;SID:SenderIDStatus None X-MS-Exchange-Organization-SCL: 5 X-MS-Exchange-Organization-SenderIdResult: NONE -------------------------------------------------------------------- If I grant anonymous inbound access to the HT box, and telnet directly into it, I get the same results. In either case, outbound seems to be fine (in fact, this message is going out from that box). No AV running.
