I don't understand how you're configured from your explanation, but if
you're using an SMTP Connector to route mail between Exchange servers in the
same Exchange organization, you shouldn't be.  If you're using a smart host
setting in a SMTP virtual server at all, you shouldn't be.

Hey all-

I had a very odd issue occur this week (Monday). In two of my Exchange
environments users with mailboxes on one server could no longer send mail to
the Internet from the back-end mail server when there was a SMTP connector
configured to route Internet E-mail through one server.

Adding the IP of the back-end mail server to the Bridgehead SMTP virtual
server settings resolved the problem.

My question is why did this occur all of a sudden? I didn't apply any
patches on these systems in the last 2 weeks. No changes were made to the
ESM settings in the last 3 months!

Any information is appreciated.
