Hi,

We have deployed Exchange 2007 organisation in a test lab. It has Mailbox,
Client Access and two Edge servers. All servers installed on 64-bit platforms
with proper licenses. We entered Product Keys on all boxes, everything seems to
be fine, mail flows in and out.
However if I check Server Configuration in EMC on the Mailbox server both Edge
Transports are said to be Unlicensed. If I issue
get-ExchangeServer | select name,ProductID,*trial* on the Mailbox server I am
getting:

Name : EdgeServer1
ProductID :
IsExchange2007TrialEdition : True
IsExpiredExchange2007TrialEdition : True
RemainingTrialPeriod : 00:00:00

The same command on the EdgeServer1 says that all is good:

Name : EdgeServer1
ProductID : xxxxx-yyy-zzzzzzz-nnnnn
IsExchange2007TrialEdition : False
IsExpiredExchange2007TrialEdition : False
RemainingTrialPeriod : 00:00:00

Looks like the mailbox server doesn't know that the Edge is licensed. The
option of entering Product key is not available for the Edge servers from EMC
on the Mailbox server, if I try PowerShell command set-ExchangeServer
edgeServer -ProductKey I am getting error:
Set-ExchangeServer : An error happened while accessing registry of the specifie
d server: "EDGSERVER1". The error message: "The network path was not found.

All seems to be good with network connectivity between the Mailbox server and
the Edges, from the mailbox server I can ping, access via UNC path, browse the
registry of the Edge servers, windows firewall is disabled on the Edges.

The only advice I could find so far is to remove Edge subscription and
re-subscribe, I haven't tried this yet, hope there might be other solutions.
Any help on how to rectify this is much appreciated.
Thank you.

Regards,

Alex
