I had a similar experience. My internal hostname didn't match my external
hostname. The certificate I had with Exchange 03 handled this just fine,
but with 07, if you have a divided name, you need to put in a Unified
Communications Certificate (UCC), which can handle multiple names. Perhaps
this is what you're encountering?

Subject: SSL, Exchange 2007 and POP3 access
Having a problem with secure POP3 access to the CAS/Hub Servers, that I
thought you all could help/assist me with.
Our Exchange 2007 build is as follows
2 sets of CCR Mailbox servers
2 CAS/Hub servers that are load balanced
The Certificate on the CAS servers are registered to the Load Balanced
server name - TAW
HTTPS access is fine, but POP and IMAP access keeps coming up with a root
certificate error saying the server you are connected to is using a security
certificate that could not be verified
I have checked out many pages with this but cannot seem to resolve it. Any
ideas? Could it be due to the load balancing?
Thanks
Helen Best
