when comparing also check if pricing is based on per server or per user and if you can run as many servers you want under the per server model (with mimesweeper you can run as many servers as you want) I have also had great coverage from MSW and you can use the content scanning to detect VBscript type stuff and trigger on it. Get a few false positives , but it helps cover you when you can't block all attachments you would like.

Mailsweeper does pull the attachments apart so it will find .exe's inside zips or .bmp inside .doc etc. and other blockables such as .whatever your security policy dictates. I do not know of any issues with MSw and virus scanners other than they have provided excellent support for Mcafee Vscan470 right up to the latest version this has up until now (2yrs+) covered me from every virus going. .2p worth - hope it helps. If you do that the original installed NVC won't work again and even the one which is coming with ME is not running... And I think still in Version 5.0 it does only scan the attachment by its name. So if you rename the attachment it will go through... And sometimes it seems to cause bluescreens on boxes where also ExchangeServer and NVC is running. MailMarshal is very easy to install and to configure (as ME is too...). But it has more options to configure. It's possible to do scans for different domains with different rulesets. Export/Import Rulesets. Reporting, and, and, ... (No I'm not paid...) Just install ME, MM, MS (MimeSweeper) and others and compare. And it depends if you want integration in ExchangeServer or doing the scan on a separate box. I prefer a separate box. Good products still/sometimes cost... Are both doing about the same thing or one of those product is doing everything the other is doing and more ? What about Stability ? THANKS a lot for your input.
