So with your "successful" backups, can you perform a "successful" restore?

This is curious. For the last month my scheduled batch NT backup used to run
and close in 1 minute, without backing anything up - no errors in the log.
Doing backups manually at the console did always work though. Lately the
scheduled one started running properly again all by itself after I gave the
server a reboot. However the event ID's descriptions are slightly different
now:

**MSExchangeIS (235) Online defragmentation of database
'D:\exchsrvr\MDBDATA\PRIV.EDB' terminated prematurely after encountering
unexpected error -1019. **

as opposed to:

**MSExchangeIS (379) Online defragmentation of database
'D:\exchsrvr\MDBDATA\PRIV.EDB' terminated prematurely after encountering
unexpected error -1019.**

so it changed from (379) to (235) what do those numbers mean ?.

I have read the Article ID: Q188646, but don't feel it applies to my case
since am not getting error -1018, and I can take online backups, IMHO.

Many thanks for your ideas,

Are you able to do an online backup?

Greetings all,
I have been subscribed for over 1 year, and am trying to read the digests as
much as possible...could not find something similar to my problem. NT40 SP6a
server, Exchange 5.5 SP4, I receive periodically "Event:ID 184"
Source: ESE97, Description: MSExchangeIS (235) Online defragmentation of
database 'D:\exchsrvr\MDBDATA\PRIV.EDB' terminated prematurely after
encountering unexpected error -1019. This happens always precisely when the
scheduled IS maintenance kicks in. -Eseutil /g /v /x reveals error -1206
(JET_errDatabaseCorrupted, non-db file or corrupted db). All these and yet
the server seems to be still rebooting and operating normally (don't know
for how much longer). Any thoughts greatly appreciated !
