-----Original Message----- From: Alastair Morrison [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 30 October 2001 17:14 To: Exchange Discussions Subject: Automatically send email from Outlook Part of our library's new system is a PC application which (supposedly) will extract relevant information from the main server (e.g. book overdue, email address of borrower) and then use an open email client on the PC to send out a notice to the borrower. The email client in question is Outlook 2000. When the library application attempts the above Outlook generates the following message "A program is trying to access your Address Book" and permits the user "To allow unsecured access for a specified time period of up to 10 minutes". We select 10 minutes. However the library application deposits each notice it generates in the Outbox of Outlook and on each deposit displays the message "A program is trying to automatically send email on your behalf. Do you want to allow this?" requiring the user to click yes (for each item) before the item is sent. Can anyone suggest a way to automate the task of assenting to the messages in the Outbox being sent, as the aim is to have these messages emailed out without as little user intervention as possible? (Currently in the order of 30 messages need to be emailed a day but as the term progresses this is likely to become 300+) Many thanks, Alastair Morrison --------------------------------------------- [EMAIL PROTECTED] Strathclyde University Glasgow UK _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ___________________________________________________________________________ This email is confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual to whom it is addressed.
