This came about from the Nimda virus since we are positive we got infected here via someone's web browser. Also, we would like to upgrade our EMC powerpath software (our MSX mailbox servers are on a symetrix), but it requires at least IE5. My other choice is to simply leave IE4 on the MSX servers, stay with the current version of powerpath, and block web browsing from our MSX servers by adding their IP addresses in our netcache ACL. This doesn't bother me too much, since we never browse from the MSX servers anyway. However, we don't get the new powerpath, and my networking pals have that much more to manage... -----Original Message----- From: Andy David [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, November 02, 2001 10:48 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Internet Explorer Just curious, why the need to upgrade? -----Original Message----- From: Ken Cornetet [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, November 02, 2001 10:45 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Internet Explorer I have yet to try it in lab. Right now, I'm just putting together a feasibility report for our security folks. I thought I'd see how many people have successfully done this to see if it's worth the trouble. If we decide to upgrade IE, I will test, test, and test some more. but as Admiral Lord Fisher once said: "The best scale for an experiment is 12 inches to the foot." -----Original Message----- From: Doug Hampshire [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, November 02, 2001 10:32 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Internet Explorer What happened when you tested it in your lab? -----Original Message----- From: Ken Cornetet [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, November 02, 2001 7:31 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: Internet Explorer Is anyone running IE 5.5SP2 or IE6 on your MSX 5.5 servers?
