Hi, You should not install a modem to dial in, use PTPP. Go to network neighborhood properties and install PTPP tunneling on the server. This is much fast than a modem. Another thing you will have to install on the client is the VPN adapter which is also found under network neighborhood in win98, in windows 2000 its already installed. Then you will have to configure your clients pc with a lmhost file that maps it to the server you want to access. After you set up the lmhost file make sure you take the extension off of it the extension is .sam. When this is all finished use nbtstat -R to reload your table and the to check it use nbtstat -c. When you done with all this set up the vpn adapter in dialup networking. Hope this helps you I currently have this set up on my server at work and it works pretty good. Sux setting it up though.

When I look in Remote Access Admin, I see the server, and it tells me it is running, but there are 0 Ports in Use and 0 Total Ports.. I have installed a Modem and Configured it for dial-in and Out from the control panel... When I try to Configure the Comms Ports under the Ras Admin, It tells me that all the ports are configured for Dial out Access. Please try again latter... Any Ideas?
