Well, I'm just going to poke my neck out, and say that IF your e-mail server
in fact WAS properly configured to not relay, then it really wouldn't relay.
Can you please let us know what your settings are under the relay
restrictions in the SMTP Virtual Server?  Do you have any SMTP Connectors
set up?  Lots more details please.  Also, how do you know that it is
relaying?  Is it actually relaying messages, or just attempting to and
failing (i.e. NDR gets generated).
