Gothcha, I do get their email updates and I just click on the provided link to the IDE. I understand what you are saying though. Not to sure if I want to though. If I do this my job security will start to slide due to the automation:)

When the message arrives, and I have suggested the you use Exlife to save the mail body. Exlife will also kick off your batch file to extract the text from the mail file that you have saved. You then extrapolate the data in the mail body. Then you can use sget to get your individual ide file. You can't retrieve only the latest IDE, you have to grab them all. I basically save it from my mail and run a batch that does the rest without my intervention. -----Original Message----- From: Marc Mearns [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, March 07, 2002 1:13 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Automate Sophos Anti Virus in outlook Michael I have done exactly what you are doing. What you need to do is save the string from your mail out as a txt file and then run your sget (I am assuming every time there is an ide update). This can be easily achieved by using a utility like Exlife at www.ornic.com. I worked on this one with Sophos and they were extremely helpful. If you want any more help just email me on this one. Convert your batch to an executable and try to run it that way instead of pointing to the batch. -----Original Message----- From: James Mike [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, March 06, 2002 7:30 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: Automate Sophos Anti Virus in outlook Need to automatically update virus IDE via sophos which then download into a mailbox and automatically update. Have managed to use sget and the message downloads. I am now trying to get it to automatically run when recieved. In the rules wizard of outlook I have used: Apply this rule after message arrives from [EMAIL PROTECTED] start c:\sophos-update.bat and delete it. Can see the message coming in however it does not seem to run. If anyone knows a way to do this in outlook 2000 - please let me know. _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ********************************************************************** This footnote confirms that this email message has been swept by MAILsweeper for the presence of computer viruses. ********************************************************************** ********************************************************************** This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
