Don't blame in on Exchange, it's and AD problem. Exchange no longer owns user accounts.

Again I say, could Exchange 2000 be stupider than 5.5? In 5.5 we could search on any string of characters anywhere in the name and it would resolve Example to get Johan Sebastian Bach, I could simply type bast and, if no other names in the GAL had that string in them, it would resolve. Also, if it resolved multiple names from the string typed in, you would be prompted to chose from the list. This is the functionality I am looking for again. I can't believe that upgrading to Exchange 2000 will end up being a step backwards on this issue. They are available on MS's site. Search for Display Names Change I think. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ray Beckwith" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Exchange Discussions" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, March 15, 2002 2:49 PM Subject: RE: Exchange 2000, Outlook 2000 and Name Checking Yes. We just brought up our new Exchange 2000 server last weekend and I can't figure out why we can no longer type in a last name or part of a last name and have Outlook 2000 resolve it from the GAL. Exchange 5.5 would do this and many of us got used to it. Now the only way to get the correct name is to start from the beginning and work across (First Last). Has Exchange 2000 really gotten stupider? Thanks in advance for your assistance.
