Subject: IMS queue oddities

Hello all,

I have a question for the Exchange experts. MS Exchange 5.5 NT 4 SP 6a.. I
recently went live with a Postfix mail gateway. So now email comes in
through our firewall (PIX) and directly to the Postfix mail gateway.
Postfix determines what mail to relay to the internal MS Ex box. This works
great. Before going live with the Postfix mail gateway I would sometimes
see mail in the IMS (outbound) Queue on Exchange with an originator of
'<>'.. The question is that now that there is a secure mail gateway in
place with relay restrictions, I still see these messages in the MS Ex IMS
outbound queue.

Could these messages leaving Ex be NDRs generated by Exchange..? It isn't
causing a problem, but still worries me that I don't know why they are
there.. Sorry if this is a stupid question...

   ~John
