Chris and Martin, Thanks for the information. *sigh* My manager's going to hate me. But that's what a test lab is for right?
As for E2K, I've yet to really look at it as a possabiliy so my first question is... Can I run E2K is it own domain with a DC blah blah blah... Leaving my current NT 4 domain intact and setup a trust between the 2 domains, add the E2K server to my current site and move all the users to it? We're not quite ready to move to 2000 yet so I need to work between the lines. > Upgrade to E2K. > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: David Gibbons [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > > Sent: Monday, May 06, 2002 4:38 PM > > To: Exchange Discussions > > Subject: Information Store and Single Instance Storage. > > > > > > To All: > > > > Current environment.... > > > > Test Lab Server 1 > > Compaq r3000 > > 2 PII 333 > > 1.5gig Ram > > 1x 4.1gig OS mirror > > 1x 9.1gig Log mirror > > 4x 18.1gig Information Store Raid 5 > > Windows NT 4sp6 > > Exchange 5.5sp4 > > Information Store Size 33.2gig (Single Instance) 51gig > > uncompressed. 768 mailboxes in information store Container > > Scheme Container for each location e.g. -Center Location 1 > > --User --User --ETC -Center Location 2 --User --User --Etc > > > > Test Lab Server 2 > > Compaq ML530 > > 2 PIII Xoen 1gig > > 2gig Ram > > 1x 18.1gig OS Mirror > > 1x 18.1gig Log Mirror > > 4x 36gig Information Store Raid 5 > > Windows 2000sp2 > > Exchange 5.5sp4 > > > > We wish to use Ed's server move method to replace the current > > hardware that our exchange server is sitting.
