Have they tried installing Merak 4.4.3? This build supposedly fixes some
bdat issues. I think you can find out more about bdat in RFC 3030.

Subject: Exchange v. Merak Mail problem

We have one of our business partners who cannot send mail to my domain,
though we can normally get mail to them. Their domain uses Merak Mail, I'm
on Exch2K. Each of us have no known problems with any other domain except
each other. Using www.checkdns.org, both domains' MX records appear to be
configured correctly. The other domain, geostarcorp.com, was using ESMTP,
but he indicates he has tried disabling that and forcing SMTP, that didn't
seem to change anything. After the initial DNS querying, here's the last
part of the conversation between the servers (my server is 208.187.29.85):

BDAT 7596 LAST

*****

I've looked at some Technet articles but am still not clear on what the BDAT
response means, and also no idea why it's ruining my mail...

I'm not running a SMTP Connector, only 1 Exchange server in the site, not
running SSL, no unusual occurrences with any other known domain. This
morning, the sysadmin of geostarcorp.com said he was unable even to telnet
into my mail server. So I'm inclined to think the problem is on his end but
can't verify it yet.

Thanks for any help...

David
