We are looking into replacing InoculateIT with Sybari Antigen.

Currently we run an SMTP gateway (Tumbleweed MMS) that connects to the IMC of our
Exchange bridgehead server.

Utilizing Sybari's Antigen on the IMC, couldn't you remove the need for the separate
SMTP gateway solution?

Thanks for any insight you may provide.

That's a valid approach.

Great. That's what I was looking for. I'll probably go with Trend Micro or GFI Mail
Essentials at the Gateway and then have Sybari on the Exchange server. Thanks.

A file-based scanner would not catch any viruses since they'd be encoded into UUENCODE
or MIME. Further, it might generate false positives that would corrupt your mail.

Hi, I've decided to use IIS as my smtp gateway on the DMZ. I was curious, could I use
a file based virus scanner on that server? I will be using Sybari Antigen on my
Exchange server, but would like to be double protected. Thoughts? Or did I not give
enough info?
