We are looking into replacing InoculateIT with Sybari Antigen. Currently we run an SMTP gateway (Tumbleweed MMS) that connects to the IMC of our Exchange bridgehead server.
Utilizing Sybari's Antigen on the IMC, couldn't you remove the need for the separate SMTP gateway solution? Thanks for any insight you may provide. -Tony -----Original Message----- From: Ed Crowley [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, January 31, 2002 3:12 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Using IIS as SMTP relay, what about Gateway A/V? Great. That's what I was looking for. I'll probably go with Trend Micro or GFI Mail Essentials at the Gateway and then have Sybari on the Exchange server. Thanks. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Ed Crowley Sent: Thursday, January 31, 2002 1:46 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Using IIS as SMTP relay, what about Gateway A/V? A file-based scanner would not catch any viruses since they'd be encoded into UUENCODE or MIME. Further, it might generate false positives that would corrupt your mail. Hi, I've decided to use IIS as my smtp gateway on the DMZ. I was curious, could I use a file based virus scanner on that server? I will be using Sybari Antigen on my Exchange server, but would like to be double protected. Thoughts? Or did I not give enough info? _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] The information contained in this e-mail message is intended only for the personal and confidential use of the recipient(s) named above.
