That is true, since the offline defrag process essentially rewrites the
database ( A second copy) without the whitespace.  It is possible to defrag
to a network drive, but it is time consuming.  

Unless you're running out of diskspace, or are running up against the 16GB
limit, leave the Store databases alone and let Exchange manage its own
storage.  If you defrag and recover that space, the Store will only need to
expand again to accommodate future growth.

I know it is really stupid question but i never did a offline defrag and
someone the other day told me that when you do an offline defrag you need
the same amount of free disk space on your hd as you have in your database.
Is this true, thanks.

In order to really recover the space that comes from deleting email,
mailboxes, etc. an offline defrag is a must.
