PerlMX ??? ok for your desktop and small setups I guess, but if you are serious about performance etc. then you need to use Sendmail's in-built (if you build it to use this feature that is) MILTER (if you think of smtp event sinks in Exchange 2000 then its _sort_ of the same thing) and then the MILTER filter has to be written in c . anything else is a poor second. Of course this is all free, but you have to know what you are doing ..and it isnt related to Exchange at all so its off topic! more on topic for this sort of stuff is www.e-nspect.co.uk which doesnt use the Exchange server log files to generate reports so it can grab more data about attachments etc. unlike Promodag.. mike
