All, We have a problem that only really manifested itself when we tried a restore of Exchange 2000 in a Disaster Recovery mode.
We have Exchange 2000, with all the storage groups on EMC. We use Syncsorts Backup Express [ver 2.1.3e] to back up both the system as well as the storage groups as well as the AD domain controllers. We could successfully restore the Exchange server and storage groups but could not verify that the system was operational after the fact, since the restore of any domain controller failed. It appear as if the problems is related to running Active Directory, since any other WIN 2000 server [application / file print services] can be restored. Synchsort advised us that this was a problem with Windows 2000 service pack 1. All our Win 2000 servers were service pack 2 or better. Feedback from any person that has experienced or solved this problem would be appreciated.
