Exchange IM, who needs any stinkin' Exchange IM.  Use Jabber (jabber.org).
Open, Free, Function.  Can't ask for much more.  Clients are totally cross
platform.  You can add transports on the server for AIM, Yahoo, MSN.  Chat
with everyone on an open IM network.  Jabber is all XML based.  Pretty sweet
alternative.
