Check also in ESM -> global settings -> message delivery -> properties -> there are limits there.
Check also your Default SMTP Virtual Server -> properties -> Messages -> there are limits there. -----Original Message----- From: John Matteson [mailto:John.Matteson@;geac.com] Posted At: Wednesday, October 30, 2002 7:33 AM Posted To: List - Exchange Server List Conversation: Non-existent E2K size limits? Subject: RE: Non-existent E2K size limits? If I remember the ESMTP conversation it goes something like this: Ehlo Hi I have a message for you that is <xxxx> bytes in size I can accept a message that is a maximum of <yyyy> bytes in size >From here it's if x is smaller than y the message gets passed, if not, the message is rejected with an NDR back to the originator. Can you turn up the protocol logging and take a look at the actual conversation? The message is sent from any Outlook 2000 client directly to the Exchange 2000 server, which then sends the NDR below to the sender. It doesn't get any further than a single step in the path! It allows large messages in, no problem. The NDR is definitely coming from the postmaster on the E2k server, and it has the server FQDN in the error at the bottom: <mailserver.ourdomain.com #5.2.3> Any further ideas? Hi Guys, I have an E2K single server that is not allowing messages over 6Mb to be sent out. I have checked the outbound limits in the SMTP protocol, the default limits on the main settings and the user's AD settings. I have searched Microsoft support for all 5.2.3 errors as well, and looked at all settings suggested there, but with no joy. The server can receive large emails, no problem. It is not the ISP. The message gets returned with the following error: Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. Subject: large email test Sent: 21/10/02 09:02 The following recipient(s) could not be reached: [EMAIL PROTECTED] on 21/10/02 09:02 The message was not delivered because it is larger than the current system limit. Create a shorter message body or remove attachments and try sending it again. I am obviously missing something obvious - anybody know of any other restriction or setting that might cause this error?
