That's either name resolution or network related. And just because they can ping doesn't mean there's enough free network bandwidth to support the connection, either.
You didn't mention if they are local or not, and how they are connected, but I'd suggest restarting the MTA service on both servers and see what the result it. -------------------------------------------------------------- Roger D.
