For that you may need to go back to the RTC folks to dig into. ======================================== ERM (Exchange Resource Manager) Released! http://www.swinc.com/erm ========================================

I think it was a messenger client on the rtc server that messed it up. The only problem now is that administrator is the only one who can log on to the service even if others are enabled. Karsten -----Original Message----- From: Webb, Andy [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 27. maj 2003 17:15 To: Exchange Discussions The problem I was having with RTC was that when I logged on to the server to manage RTC (or anyone else was logged on) the IM client would start up. So when I would try to start the RTC services, they would fail. If I exited completely the IM client or managed the server services from another system via MMC, then it would start up fine. Then when logging on to the server, the IM client will pick a different port to use. IMHO it's a bug in the software that the client and server try to listen on the same port. ======================================== ERM (Exchange Resource Manager) Released! http://www.swinc.com/erm ======================================== -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Posted At: Tuesday, May 27, 2003 9:30 AM Posted To: Microsoft Exchange Conversation: Titanium, RTC server and Server Active Sync Subject: RE: Titanium, RTC server and Server Active Sync Hi Andy Thank you for your reply. 1. ok 2. I have a feeling there might be something there. If I change the listening port from the default 5060 to fx 8000 it starts up - the client cant connect though. What client software are you referring to? 3. I am using 2003 but i'm not sure I have the post sp1 hotfix .. I'll check that. Karsten -----Original Message----- From: Webb, Andy [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 27. maj 2003 15:46 To: Exchange Discussions 1. Don't know about that one. 2. This is usually because the services really are unavailable. What I found was that the services were not able to start listening on the ports because the client software was running on the server and blocking the startup. One other reason is not running the correct client version against the server (looks not to be the case for you). You might check with the more official RTC support channels on this. 3. You do not need a Ti front-end/back-end setup to use RPC/HTTP. You must be using Windows 2003, not Windows 2000. You also must have a post SP1 hotfix for Windows XP. I have a few questions which I hope someone can guide me to. Versions of RTC server and Titanium are not technically well documentet yet but I have been searching the net for weeks now and hasn't found any answers or articles on this : Okay, anyone? - SMS triggered server active sync. It's enabled on the user but where do I set up the number etc (Like fx airweb on MIS) ? - RTC server refuses connections with the error message (on the client) : Service temporarely unavailable. It's the same error no matter if I configure Windows Messenger 5 to automatic settings (from DNS _sip record) or if I put in the ip adress of the RTC server. I'm also looking at the RPC over HTTP but the option in Outlook 2003 isn't available (greyed out). Why is that? Do I need a Titanium front end server for the RPC over HTTP or can it run on the existing Titanium server`? Thanx anyone.
