IIRC, Entourage needs an update pack for Exchange connectivity.  The
originally released Entourage only did POP3 and IMAP.  "Native" Exchange
features required remaining at Outlook 2001 (on OS9).

There's a whitepaper somewhere on that page describing the requirements for
Exchange and Entourage.

indicates that these protocols need to be enabled: IMAP, SMTP, HTTP DAV
(Outlook Web Access), and LDAP.   It also requires Exchange 2000 SP2, so you
may be SOL.  

So it's not full Exchange awareness, but it's probably the closest you're
going to get and still be able to use OSX 100% of the time.
