Take a standard user, log onto that server. Make sure they have the log on as locally right. After you log on with that user, try the OWA and see the results – make sure to use \\server\exchange\logon.asp for access

I had problems with rights within IIS and found this to work:

Site – Anonymous and NT Challenge

Exchange – Anonymous and basic

Subject: 403 Forbidden Error

Hello Everyone,

i have a Exchange 5.5 server that is also a proxy 2.0 server.  e-mail is and has been working great for 2 years now.  my boss fianlly wants us to be able to hit exchange from the "outside".  when i go into the browser and put in the url i get the authentication dialog box and after i put in the credentials i get the error "403 access is forbidden"  off IE.  the server is a bdc and i was wondering what i should be checking.  i have the right access on the exchsrvr\webdata and webtemp directories.

any help is appreciated..
