Do not think the patch will work for SP3.  Check the MS01-047 technet article, the patch

is written for SP4.  This is the reason why we upgrade our site from SP3 to SP4 and then

apply this patch.

Hi the latest MS security alert MS01-047 refers to the patch needing SP4 for exchange 5.5. Has anyone applied the patch on a SP3 Exchange server yet?

Our organisation will be going to SP4 soon, after some testing.
