Actually the LDAP situation only applies to Exchange 5.5 Running on an AD DC.
But yes you need to install the exchange Admin tools on any machine you want to manage mailboxes from. I first created an AD Connector to replicate the info from Ex 5.5 to AD, and it seemed to work. Several hours later, I ran the /ForestPrep utility before installing Ex2k. I have now fully installed Exch2k, and patched it with the latest sp. My problem is, when I right-click on a user in AD, and select the "Exchange Tasks" option, the only available Exchange option is "Enable Instant Messaging". There is no "Move Mailbox" option which, according to everything I've read, there should be. Anyone seen this? Anyone have any ideas what's going on? It's as if the Exchange services didn't get installed on the new box. Help!
