nope, the entire mailbox is totally empty. I can restore other users boxes fine. Oh well...looks like the poor chap's lost his mail...perhaps next time he'll respect our policy about not using local drives for storage :o)

How are you doing it to a recovery server? Are you running DS/IS consistency after the restore (presuming you're restoring IS)? If you're doing the restore properly, then I think your guess is right - that he was having his mail delivered to a pst. Anything in the Deleted Items/Sent Items? -----Original Message----- From: Boswell Tim [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 29 October 2001 12:29 To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: Empty Restores One of my users has somehow lost his mailbox contents (he had two boxes, requested one be deleted, and someone deleted the wrong one). I've recreated the box, but when I've gone to restore the contents, it's empty. I tried again from a backup taken a week earlier, and that's empty too. Does anyone have any thoughts on what could have caused this, and/or how to get it back? Running NT4/SP6 Ex55. Oh, and one of the wonderfully helpful desktop guys rebuilt his PC, so I can't check whether he was previously having it delivered to a PST, unless anyone knows a way of checking this from the logs? Any help appreciated, as always!
